Johnny Mnemonic (1995)
In a future where information is smuggled through cybernetically enhanced couriers, Johnny (Keanu Reeves) transports a data package too large for his brain, putting his life at risk. Hunted by corporations and cyber-assassins, he must deliver the data before it kills him. Based on a short story by William Gibson, the film features iconic cyberpunk imagery — from virtual reality hacks to data-driven warfare. Although it hasn’t aged particularly well in terms of effects and tone, Johnny Mnemonic has become a cult classic among cyberpunk fans for its ambition and raw depiction of a data-drenched future.

Jung_E (2023)
In a climate-ravaged future, Yun Seo-hyun (Kang Soo-yeon) leads a research team tasked with creating a perfect combat AI using the brain data of her late mother, legendary soldier Jung_E (Kim Hyun-joo). As the project unfolds, ethical dilemmas emerge around autonomy, memory, and identity. Directed by Yeon Sang-ho (Train to Busan), Jung_E stands out for its emotional core beneath sleek sci-fi visuals. It was the final performance of actress Kang Soo-yeon, a legend of Korean cinema. The film blends themes of grief, technological legacy, and human consciousness within a dystopian corporate-military complex.
