Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has suffered a major cyberattack, disrupting its operations worldwide. The company acted fast, shutting down systems to prevent further damage. Officials say they are now carefully restoring applications, and so far, there’s no sign that customer data has been affected.
The impact has been severe. In the UK, staff at key factories like Halewood and Solihull were told to stay home, stopping production. Retail operations also took a hit, including new vehicle registrations—right during the launch of the high-demand ‘75’ plates.

Experts warn this attack shows how vulnerable modern industries have become as IT and operational networks grow more connected. They suggest strong digital barriers between production and business systems to stop attacks from spreading. The incident comes amid a wider wave of cyber disruptions affecting major UK companies this year.
