Before email, GPS, voice assistants, and pocket-sized supercomputers, there was cyberpunk, a genre that reshaped science fiction forever. These bold and incisive writers revealed the dangers of unchecked technological growth and a society sprinting into an uncertain future, arguing that technology could harm us as much as it could save us. Thirty years after the movement shook the literary world, much of its imagined future has become reality.

This anthology, introduced by Victoria Blake, features stories by cyberpunk pioneers and innovators including William Gibson, Bruce Sterling, Pat Cadigan, Cory Doctorow, and many others. Together, they paint a vivid picture of the high-tech, low-life world we now inhabit, a world where the once-speculative dystopia of cyberpunk feels eerily familiar.
